Please help my wife fight cancer

My wife Devita has been told that after a year long fight with Breast Cancer in 2019, that it has returned and spread to her lungs.

She will need Chemotherapy for the rest of her life and a family friend has setup a Gofundme that will hopefully cover the first year of her treatment.

Hello everyone

This is a video I never thought I would have to make

But I need your help…

This is my wife Devita

In 2019, she was diagnosed with stage 3 Breast Cancer

After chemotherapy, radiotherapy, a mastectomy, multiple surgeries and complications, she was told she was technically cancer free

A year later, where we are now… she’s been told that the cancer has metastasised and spread to her lungs

You can imagine how hard this was for her to hear. How hard it was for me, for everyone we know and especially our daughter Aisha was to hear as well. This is like the universe is collapsing all around her.

Now, we live in Australia and although New Zealand citizens, like Aisha and I can access the public health system here called Medicare, Devita can’t because she’s an Indonesian Citizen who is here on a Subclass 461 visa, that allows her to be with a New Zealand partner.

Like me…

This means, that even though I’ve been working here and paying taxes for 20 years and Devita has been here since 2007, building a life around herself. Her private health insurer doesn’t cover the cost of the chemotherapy drugs she needs, and we have to pay for them ourselves

The first time she fought this, the treatment lasted for a year and even though it cleaned out our savings and took most of my salary every fortnight, we managed to afford the treatment with help from friends and family

This time, the treatment will be ongoing for the rest of her life, or until the cancer hopefully goes into remission

This time, Devita, Aisha, our friends and family and I, need your help
